The Office of Strategic Services, or OSS, was formed in June 1942 to conduct intelligence collection activities, sabotage, espionage, and communications behind enemy lines for the duration of World War II. "This is No Picnic" was the title of one of their original training manuals. It's exploits are legendary. More than 13,000 people served in the OSS before it's dissolution in September 1945. Many OSS veterans went on to serve in the Central Intelligence Agency when it was formed in 1947. This spearhead insignia lives on in the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) logo of the modern era.
This sticker is a faithful reproduction of their original unit patch. this design has now been adapted into the modern-day US Special Operations Command, a spiritual successor to the OSS.
