Black plastic buckles on a backpack or suitcase are ubiquitous and easily overlooked by almost everyone. They're seen everywhere; at the airport, on the street, in a car trunk or beside a desk. And because they're seen everywhere, they're consequently seen nowhere.
Now you can turn that simple plastic device to your advantage in a potentially dangerous situation when traveling to the riskiest parts of the world.
The SERE Handcuff Key Buckle appears from afar to be a standard black plastic side-release buckle, of a type that has been produced in the millions in recent years. But molded into the male connector of the buckle is a universal handcuff key, concealed from view when the buckle is closed.
The handcuff key can easily be snapped out of the male connector with finger strength only, and used to free yourself from illegal detention when traveling in high-risk areas.
The buckle is designed for use with standard-sized 0.5" wide webbing, and can be sewn into the exterior of a wide variety of bags, belts, gear, or carryalls. Purchasing and installing several of these buckles on any bags or gear you're likely to have with you at the time of a potential illegal detention will multiply your chances of escape and survival. You may also want to purchase several for training in realistic practical scenarios before your life actually depends on it.
The SERE Handcuff Key Buckle should be just one part of your total survival plan, and can be incorporated into your everyday carry gear along with other hidden handcuff keys, such as the GTFO Wrist Strap and El Chapo Escape and Evasion Kit, also available here.
