Shemaghs, also known as Keffiyehs, are typically worn over the face and head to protect from sunburn, dust, and sand. They originated in the Middle East / Arabian Desert region, but can now be found worn all over the world, as they are versatile for different climates and are a cost effective, compact piece of gear.
